有一本書也叫蒼蠅王，很恐怖。

巴力西卜（Beelzebub），又譯為別西卜，意思為「蒼蠅王」，緋尼基人的神，新約聖經中稱巴力西卜為鬼王，聖經中七宗罪的貪食。但是在拉比（Rabbi，猶太教的宗教領袖）的文獻中，別西卜這個名字也以「蒼蠅王」的意思在使用，被視為是引起疾病的惡魔。
